Steve Rubel: A blogger to know

It's always great to see deserving bloggers receive some recognition and support.

Whether that recognition arrives from within their industry, from other bloggers or the mainstream media, it's all good news. It reflects well on the many fine bloggers writing on the internet today.

One very deserving blogger, who received some much deserved credit, is my friend Steve Rubel of the absolutely must read public relations blog, Micro Persuasion.

The very public notice of Steve's tremendous writing ability, and elite level understanding and practice of public relations, is wonderful to see.

MEDIA Magazine published The Media 100 (in PDF format) of the "people to know in the media world".

Included on the list are such high powered individuals as Bill Gates of Microsoft, Steve Jobs of Apple, and Sergey Brin and Larry Page of Google.

Also on the list are some other very well known and elite level bloggers. They are Jessica Coen of Gawker, Ana Marie Cox of Wonkette, Nick Denton of Nick Denton and Gawker Media, John H. Hideraker and Scott W. Johnson of Powerline, and of course, Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit.

Together, these bloggers represent the entire blogging community. All members of the blogosphere received recognition by extension, through the achievements of these talented and influential bloggers.

Congratulations to all of the fine bloggers who made The Media 100 list.

And a special congratulations to Steve Rubel of Micro Persuasion for representing business and public relations bloggers.

Steve carried the flag with elegance and grace.

Just as we all knew he would.
