Marketing your services: Free seminars

Free stuff.

As readers of this blog already know, I am a strong supporter of using free resources wherever possible.

I also believe very strongly in giving away free stuff. My gratis items include business blogging information, marketing ideas, business opportunities, and SEO hints and tips.

The very knowledgeable and respected Toby Bloomberg of the valuable Diva Marketing has taken up a wonderful concept, suggested by the always innovative Steve Rubel, of the essential Micro Persuasion.

That idea is to give free presentation seminars to companies about business blogging.

I like the idea completely.

Spreading the word to businesses of all types, whether they market goods, services, or some combination of both helps everyone.

The business gains through adding the marketing, public relations, and SEO power of blogs, by developing a conversation with current and potential customers and clients.

The presenter benefits through raising his or her profile as an expert in the field of blogging for business.

All bloggers benefit from the addition of an ever growing awareness of blogs for business.

More business activity means healthier businesses, more employment, and a stronger economy in general.

That's a lot of benefits from bloggers helping businesses to add a blogging component to their marketing and public relations efforts.

All bloggers should follow the example set by Toby Bloomberg and Steve Rubel, and make themselves freely available to make presentations to groups of business people.

Whether the topic is blogging, or any other area of business expertise, sharing freely of your knowledge and ideas helps everyone.

There are few things that I like better than helping other businesses to succeed.

It's great to know that many other business people share that same opinion.

Make yourself available as a guest speaker. Don't charge for your services or time. Some organizations and companies will pay your expenses, and that's fine.

There is no need to charge a fee or admission, however, as you want your information and ideas to be freely available to as many people as possible.

Often, free presentations in your area of business expertise, lead to paying customers and clients or to being contacted by the news media as an authority in your industry.

So you see, you can benefit too.

Like Toby and Steve, I offer my information and ideas freely, to those business and professional people who want to hear and utilize them.

You should offer free seminars too.

Offer free information and ideas today.
