Startup from the Ground Up: Practical Insights for Transforming an Idea into a Business, Cynthia Kocialski, shares proven ideas for achieving entrepreneurial success for start-up businesses. You willlearn:

Cynthia Kocialski (photo left) has been personally involved in more than two dozen start-up companies and business units. Many of these start-ups were stellar successes of the hi-tech industry and others were the failures that closed without any fanfare at all. After that many start-ups, Cynthia has seen what works, what doesn’t work, and much of the day-to-day humor that happens in these start-up companies.
Cynthia started her career at IBM as a systems engineer and later worked in diverse roles at IBM as a design engineering manager, technical marketing, and business development. Cynthia was the General Manager of Matrox Electronics, where she managed several product development groups. For the past 15 years, she has been involved in hi-tech start-up companies. Cynthia founded Vesta Corporation, a specialized telecom software provider and SLI, a fabless telecom semiconductor company. Cynthia has worked with many start-ups and has served as a member of technical advisory boards. Her recent role was as COO for a medical consumer technology and services start-up.
Cynthia has a background in a wide range of hi-tech product areas: networking, telecommunications, 2D/3D graphics, digital video, image processing, multi- CPU systems, distributed processing, software, components and semiconductors. She has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Rochester and graduate degrees in Electrical and Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
