Along with the traditional business and marketing plans, a new phenomenon has appeared. It's the blogging of the business startup. As the activities of getting the business ball rolling take place, they are dutifully reported on the entreprenuerial startup blog.
As an exercise in discipline and goal achievement, this is a powerful turn of events. After all, when a new business owner announces a business plan and a timetable for its execution to the entire world, that's a very strong incentive to deliver on those promises. Fortunately, bloggers provide the energy and the posting power to make the business, and its accompanying blog, work as planned.
An interesting new entrepreneurial blog called Alane By Day is an attempt to blog the creation of a new architectural business In New York City. The owner of this innovatve business startup concept is Alene Ebner. The unique premise of this startup is the goal of achieving all of the startup goals within ten weeks. The efforts to reach that ambitious target date are documented in the blog.
The blog describes the 82 day adventure in business and blogging this way:
Alane By Day is the real-time narrative of the step-by-step creation of Alane’s architecture practice in just 82 days. We’re using the blog format so everyone can see how it’s done. If you’re starting a business, this blog will help you; if you’ve already started a business, you can help this blog.
The group blogging aspect of the project is spearheaded by my friend, the very capable Rachel Cunliffe. The entire Alane By Day blog is structured as a multi-person blog, providing a wide range of opinion and expertise, as a result.
I'll be following the accomplishments of Alane Ebner, and her elite team of fifteen experts, as they rush against their self imposed deadline. I'll also be checking their blog to keep up with the latest news on the development of Alane By Day.
The buzz created by the blog, and the blogging of the business startup, should attract media attention for the new architectural firm. The added publicity could also add some extra clients, looking to get in on the ground floor, seeking the design expertise of a highly creative group of people.
As I write, the business blog is documenting Day 9 of the 82 day project.
I'm sure they'll be a success in business and in blogging.
