Another book author turns blogger

Authors are turning to books at a rapid pace these days. Right in front of our eyes, a revolution in publishing is taking place. It's a sea change in the way books are written, published, and marketed.

It's the blog revolution in action, and it's taking writers along for the ride. Of course, authors taking to blogging is rather like the proverbial fish to water. A blog is a writer's own element, turned into a marketing tool that an author can understand and use to its fullest potential.

It's always exciting to see a friend take up blogging. It's doubly gratifying when I was the person who prodded him into taking the blogging plunge. After some deliberation on the matter, my good friend Phil Whitley has crossed over to the blogging side.

Phil has devoted his life, after a traditional work career, to studying and writing about indigenous people around the world. His most recent book project has its own website, complete with sample chapters and some short stories.

To market the book, Phil has employed a blend of innovative and traditional book marketing ideas. Now, he has added a blog component to his book marketing efforts. Along with a discussion of how his novel was written, Phil offers advice on book marketing and promotion to other writers, whether novice or an old pro.

Phil is certain the blog will boost his book marketing efforts to a new and higher level. He also has twisted my virtual arm to provide him with blogging advice and assistance. Fortunately for Phil Whitley, I am more than happy to share my blogging and business knowledge with him and with anyone else.

I want to see authors reach their book marketing goals and achieve their dreams of becoming well known writers in their field. I'm certain that Phil Whitley and his new novel Keechie will be one of those success stories.

How could he possibly avoid having a bestseller on his hands?

After all, he is now a blogger!
