While advertising on blogs is not to all bloggers' tastes, many people are at least open to discussing the issue.
After all, even the most anti-capitalist of individuals is still interested in eating, being clothed, and having a place to live. Paying the internet bill is also helpful for keeping on with blogging.
While I have never used BlogAds, the idea of text based advertisements, related to your blog's area of interest is intriguing.
What is especially appealing is the option of approving all advertisements that appear on your blog.
BlogAds describes themselves this way:
Who: Blogads.com is a network of influential bloggers who collaborate to promote and sell blog advertising.
What: Advertisers order, manage and renew fixed-period ads or sponsorships on your blog. Only ads you approve run. Blogads.com focuses on marketing and advertiser hand-holding so you don't need to.
BlogAds may be even more beneficial to bloggers right now.
According to the prestigious Business Week, BlogAds could be experiencing a drop in their company revenue.
According to Business Week, because the US Election campaign is over, many blogs are no longer receiving advertising revenue from the candidates. That means lower incomes for Bloggers, and for Blogads.com themselves.
Now might be an ideal time to consider BlogAds, as the company will be more eager to enroll your blog into the system.
Blogs previously considered too small, and too low on traffic, might look very attractive at the moment. That might include your blog.
If you are seriously interested in adding some advertising, which you get to approve, to your blog, the time to do so might be now.
Before dismissing advertising entirely, consider the various options. While BlogAds might not be right for every blogger, it's worth examining more closely anyway.
After all, household income is a nice thing to have.
