Carnival of the Vanities Avignon Edition at This Blog is Full of Crap

The 185th edition of the longest running internet blog carnival, the well known Carnival of the Vanities, appears in an Avignon Edition, at strong supporter of Carnival of the Vanities Laurence Simon's political and cat blog known as This Blog Is Full of Crap.

Carnival of the Vanities coordinator had this to say about the original host's effort:

There are 51 entry e-mails, one of which was not even read. The edition has 11 entries, two from the same blog, and emphasis on screening. Haven't we been through this enough times?

One blog, one entry. Police yourselves people, and while hosts have discretion to allow doubles, one is the presumptive option.

Vanities, people; it's supposed to be your best entry from the recent week or two. While you are the judge, and it's not really best so much as it is particularly good, police yourselves and maybe hosts won't lose it.

That said, one entry per blog gets in. All of them.

The reason for the Avignon Edition (alternative edition to the listed host) was one of dissatisfaction with the heavily edited version offered by the original officially listed host.

The Carnival of the Vanities is the original collection of blog postings, assembling some of the best and wide ranging bloggers on the internet.

This week's Carnival of the Vanities entries include politics, literature, science, medicine, technology, business, and culture.

I have an entry in this week's Avignon Edition of Carnival of the Vanities. My post was not selected for the original host's heavily edited version.

My post is titled "Blog posting: Throwaway posts build relationships" turned out to be especially timely for this week's edition, by the way. In the post I discuss how very often, the blogger will feel the just written post is not their best work, and consider the post a mere space filler. Taking the point of view that any post is better than no post, the writer forgets the posting and returns to other thoughts. The readers may have other ideas.

To participate in the Carnival of the Vanities, or any of the other blog carnivals, one of the easiest techniques is to use the all inclusive carnival entry form at The Conservative Cat.

Another participation option is to simply e-mail your entry to the new e-mail address:

cotvmail -at- gmail -dot- com

As I suggest elsewhere, hosting and contributing to the various internet blog carnivals is a great promotional idea for your blog.

Next week's edition of Carnival of the Vanities appears at the popular personal finances blog known as Free Money Finance.

In the meantime, head on over to the This Blog Is Full of Crap hosting of the Avignon Edition of Carnival of the Vanities and enjoy the posts on offer.

You will almost certainly be introduced to some great new and interesting blogs.
